• There are many pretenders to the thrones in most African States. What we have mostly are usurpers!

    Usurpers have obtained power over states. Tyrants have reigned and employed their power in oppressing the people. Neither of these is the ordinance of God. With the throne of iniquity God has no fellowship. To take the simple existence of a power as evidence of its right to rule, evinces the heart of the veriest slave.

    A casual look across the continent will confirm this reality, Africa is in dire need of Statesmen and women.

    To further this, every christian should be at his post, and wherever duty to his God, the church, and his country, calls, there he should be found. Let not christians by a mistaken view of spirituality, retire from social duty, or alienate their rights, as men, to be the inheritance of infidels and profligates. Between the most exalted spirituality of mind and an intelligent and liberal assertion of social rights, there is no discrepancy. Infidelity, for obvious reasons, would persuade us to believe, that religious and civil duties are hostile to each other.
    Believeitnot.

    David, the man after God's own heart was a states man and a captain, as well as a distinguished saint.

  • Political Action Committee mandate;
    Modelling an alternative political culture.

    Politics derives its character from politicians. You cannot give what you don’t have! Therefore, Christians who have received the nature of Christ are urgently needed in politics to set the benchmark of what the acceptable and ideal political system should be in Nigeria.

    A politician can only bring his/her worldview to bear on the political sphere which is a product of his/her beliefs, education and ethics and these will reflect in his/her political preferences and practice, which will inform his/her views of what is right and wrong.

    For Christians to be lights and salt, as true witnesses for Christ in politics, there is need to train, equip and commission believers as missionaries sent into the political sphere.

    This is one of the purpose Occupy.ng app was developed to mobilise Christians as agents of moral change with competent and integrity to manage our commonwealth for the benefit of all and to model godly characters as statesmen and women in Government. If you are reading this, you are the one God is looking for to establish His Kingdom on earth!

  • An untrained leader is a dangerous leader!
    Jesus went through training before He began His public ministry. It was an established Jewish tradition that every male child, most especially the first born, be trained in the laws,the prophets and the precepts before they are thirteen years old. He was also trained as a Carpenter as a vocation and business.

    Moses acquired the education and civilisation of the Egyptians, but that academic qualification was not enough for him to succeed in the great commission of discipling the new nation of Israel. God therefore sent him into the wilderness for another forty years of training in the school of meekness, patience with the ability to hear God’s whisper that only few humans have heard. His eighty years of training only served to fulfill forty years of public ministry.

    The ecumenical Church in Nigeria needs to develop a Public Theology as a discipline to train Christians who are called by God into the political sphere before they can be the light and salt on the mountain of government.

  • Today's young people have lower levels of trust in formal politics and are less likely to see political parties as viable avenues for affecting change. At the same time, globalization and increasing availability of technology has provided new ways for young people to connect both locally, nationally and globally. As a result, many young people are turning to social movements and other less formal means of civic and political participation, such opportunity is offered on this platform.
    Occupy.ng app provides Christians youths with civic education and programs to effectively support youth participation in political process that could lead to appointment or elective positions in government.
