Politics derives its character from politicians. You cannot give what you don’t have! Therefore, Christians who have received the nature of Christ are urgently needed in politics to set the benchmark of what the acceptable and ideal political system should be in Nigeria.
A politician can only bring his/her worldview to bear on the political sphere which is a product of his/her beliefs, education and ethics and these will reflect in his/her political preferences and practice, which will inform his/her views of what is right and wrong.
For Christians to be lights and salt, as true witnesses for Christ in politics, there is need to train, equip and commission believers as missionaries sent into the political sphere.
